Grange Road in Ealing is now complete.
We have added two new rooms and redesigned a small external courtyard to complement the single storey
brickwork addition which contains a new kitchen and scullery which are attached to a substantial Edwardian house.
The scale of the new addition is directly related to the existing internal volume of the house and two new arches were formed to create an explicit relationship between the original property and new rooms.
Reclaimed stock bricks have been used to form the external elevations with soldier coursing used to create a frieze and add presence to the form of the building.
A palette of materials were selected that compliment both the scale and period of the property including bronzed brass ironmongery, oak parquet and douglas fir windows and doors that draw light into the kitchen and encourage views into the courtyard.
